IMPORTANT NEWS 21st September 2023 – CLOSURE OF MEDICAL PRACTICE:
Dear Patients,
PLEASE NOTE THAT DR STEPHEN O’CALLAGHAN WILL BE CLOSING HIS PRIVATE OBSTETRIC PRACTICE AT THE DARWIN PRIVATE HOSPITAL (DPH) ON THURSDAY 16TH NOVEMBER 2023 AND LEAVING DARWIN. THE PRIVATE PRACTICE OF DR ALIA VEMURI, IN THE SAME ROOMS AT DPH, WILL THEN CONTINUE.

ONCE AGAIN, THIS WILL ONLY HAPPEN WITH EACH PATIENT’S PERMISSION GIVEN AT THE TIME. ANY PATIENT CAN, OF COURSE, DECLINE PERMISSION FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. ( A SMALL NUMBER OF PATIENTS, FOR VARIOUS REASONS, HAVE BEEN EXCLUDED FROM THIS PROCESS).
IF YOU DO NOT WISH FOR THIS TO HAPPEN, PLEASE CONTACT THE ROOMS IN THE NORMAL FASHION ON (08) 8927 0108, OR IN WRITING TO THE ROOMS ADDRESS IN DPH, OR DISCUSS THIS WITH DR VEMURI.
ALL INPATIENT MEDICAL RECORDS, FOR EXAMPLE RELATING TO CARE IN THE DPH BIRTH SUITE OR OPERATION THEATRE, WILL CONTINUE TO BE HELD BY THE DARWIN PRIVATE HOSPITAL MEDICAL RECORDS OFFICE IN THE USUAL MANNER.
Thank you.
Dr Stephen P. O’Callaghan.
IMPORTANT NEWS 23rd May 2022:
Dear Patients,
As you may know, this Obstetrics practice has been conducted for the last fourteen years here at Darwin Private Hospital by Dr Stephen O’Callaghan, Obstetrician and his wife Mrs Judy O’Callaghan, Midwife.
Unfortunately Mrs O’Callaghan has suddenly developed a major health issue and will need to cease her work as Midwife here at once. Dr O’Callaghan will continue to work here, as far as is possible, but he will need time off work to care for his wife at times and also for other reasons as needed.
Another new Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, Dr Alia Vemuri, has just commenced working here and she will be providing care for new patients booked under her own name at Darwin Private Hospital – and she will also be providing cover for Dr O’Callaghan and help care for his patients when necessary.
All patients will continue to be cared for safely.
Thank you for your understanding in this difficult time for us.
With best wishes,
Stephen and Judy O’Callaghan.
.
